GEOS Recycled Glass Countertops

When you are considering a kitchen remodel or in the process of choosing countertops and are looking for something unique, GEOS Recycled Glass is the perfect option. The counters are visually stunning and are Earth-friendly. The glass used is selected from high-quality post-consumer and industrial-use recycled products giving new life to cast-off glass. The glass is combined with strong binders so that the counters are not only beautiful, but also durable.

The GEOS Difference

GEOS Recycled Glass surfaces are environmentally friendly and offer you a unique combination of colors that will make your kitchen or bath stand out. The crushed glass countertops have a 15-year warranty from the day they are installed.

If you are concerned about your carbon footprint, recycled glass countertops allow you to keep recyclable material out of landfills while giving your home a look that is stunning. GEOS also offers a wide variety of colors and styles so you can match any décor. GEOS was the first company to combine an environmental focus with a durable product. In the past, recycled glass countertops were created using cement which could make them porous. The creation of cement is also damaging to the environment. GEOS does not use cement in their countertops, making them an even better option if you want to reduce your carbon footprint.

Where Does the Glass Come From?

Glass used in the countertops comes from a variety of places. Some of the glass is sourced from recycling centers while other types are factory by-products. Some of the glass may have come from a demolished building. Glass is one of the most recycled products in the United States and many people believe that it is only recycled into more bottles or jars. The flecks of glass in the crushed glass countertops give it a look that is different from almost every type of countertop.

Advantages of Recycled Glass Countertops

Crushed glass countertops are non-porous so they resist mold, mildew and bacteria. They are one of the most scratch resistant countertops with only quartz performing better. They resist stains and scorching. Unlike other types of recycled glass countertops, they do not need sealing on a regular basis. The countertop does not contain cement which can be hazardous to the environment.

GEOS Recycled Glass Care and Maintenance

GEOS Recycled Glass counters are one of the easiest to maintain and keep clean. Daily cleaning simply requires a damp cloth and mild cleaner. It is not recommended that you use bleach or other harsh cleansers on the counter as it could damage the surface. Because the countertop is non-porous, you do not need to seal or wax it. It is recommended that you wipe up citrus juices, tomato sauce or other acidic immediately as they can damage the surface. Cutting boards are recommended as knives can damage the surface.
